RISD Seal.png

The RISD seal was originally designed by sculptor, stone carver and calligrapher John Howard Benson, who taught at RISD from 1931–56. This redrawn version is the central component in RISD’s new identity and the thread that ties all communications together.

<aside> ⚠️ Low-resolution or web-only versions of the RISD seal below are provided for internal use only. They are intended for smaller projects—like a department needing the RISD seal for a lecture poster or updating the avatar on your team's Instagram account. For teams that have existing logos/branding, we ask that you stick to what you've been doing until we have a chance to meet 1:1 with your group.

Please email [email protected] if you require a higher-quality version for internal use or if you'd like to inquire about sharing the RISD seal with an external partner, which may also require a logo usage agreement.
