The General Use folder is cleared for external and public-facing communication about RISD. Photos in the Subject Specific folder require discretion when considering for use in communication materials. Be sure to keep context in mind... is the image in question appropriate for the message you're trying to communicate? If the image features a student, does it imply their belonging/connection to something as an endorsement?
Some examples of inappropriate use: Using images of graduate studios to represent a Continuing Education experience. Using an image of an individual student’s work to represent a broad learning experience.
If you are unsure about which images to use or think you need more specific imagery, reach out to [email protected]. It’s usually best to err on the side of caution and take a “less is more” approach when it comes to photography usage.
